Student Travel Awards


The 2017 AAG-SAM Student Travel Award Winners are:

Hongyu Zhang (Department of Geography, Western University)

2017 Application Submission Details

The Spatial Analysis and Modeling (SAM) Specialty Group of the AAG will offer support to graduate students based in North America who plan to travel to present at the AAG Annual Meeting in Boston, MA in April 2017. This year SAM is offering 4 awards, 2 for MA and 2 for PhD students of $250.00 apiece to support travel.

Please send an email to Debarchana (Debs) Ghosh no later than Oct 31, 2016, expressing your interest in the travel award. Include the following in the email:
* A PIN that you will receive during registration and/or abstract submission
* Abstract of your conference paper
* How do you plan to use the travel fund?

If selected, you will be asked to provide a travel itinerary (e.g. airline/train/bus ticket) to Boston, MA by February 15, 2017, but no later than March 1, 2017. If you fail to provide an itinerary, the award will go to the next student on the waiting list.
